Colin can turn on the menace like he's got an actual built-in switch; all it would take to make the violence seem like a much more... organic for lack of a better word, part of Hook -- if as Rumple said, this was his true nature being given permission to act -- would be a half-second shot of his expression changing here and there. I don't know, it's weird.
I mean seriously. At this point Colin has proven that he is a master of nuance and the oh so important “less is more” so as a writer or director I would SO exploit that. Not being clear on what particularly Rumple is lying to him about does make it a great blow to Killian’s certainty and helps build suspense with the audience (I suppose?).
But it’s hard to believe that there isn’t SOMETHING wrong with this hand. Even if it’s just because it was cut off at the Lowest Point in his ENTIRE LIFE. So I guess the anger, hatred, revenge, and violence could have been preserved? Which isn’t super surprising since it has been hanging out with the Dark One for centuries.
And let’s be honest, THIS is not a instinctive/natural position for one to attack from.

I do! :) And yowch, that looks just bizarre. And not very comfortable.
Rumple prefers to lie through omission or misdirection than outright untruth, but the impression given is that there is something sketchy going on.
Alllll of this…but that last comment in particular tied in with something I’d been thinking about as well. Hope it’s okay to jump into the conversation!!
This got a bit longer than I thought it would, so I’m putting it under a cut.
