Dude, Peter Capaldi totally refused to flirt with Clara in the new series.
Damn, I’m so ready for this.
Oh man, I still probably won’t watch any more of a Moffat-lead Who, but the fact that this man has NO QUALMS WITH CALLING THE SHOTS tickles me.
I trust Capaldi implicitly. Like Tennant, he’s a lifelong fan of the show who understands the full scope of it throughout it’s run, and on top of that he’s a simply marvelous actor (not that his predecessors weren’t wonderful, but he’s just amazing), and always has been outspoken. He also said later in that same interview (when talking about thinking over whether or not to take the part):
"I didn’t want to be Doctor Who in a Doctor Who I didn’t like,” he said. “I had to be convinced the show was going in a direction I was interested in.”
I’ve been ready for Twelve since the instant the rumors about his casting started, frankly.
